Paul O'Regan
Chairman, O'Regan's

Paul O'Regan grew up working in his father's automobile dealerships in Parrsboro, Nova Scotia. Paul attended Saint Francis Xavier University and completed BSc and BEd degrees at Dalhousie University. Paul pursued an eight-year teaching career before returning to the automobile business in 1974, when he established his used car and leasing business in Dartmouth. Since that time, O'Regan's Automotive Group has grown to include 15 new vehicle brands in 11 locations across Nova Scotia. O'Regan's also operates collision, detailing, leasing and rental companies as well as two used car centres.

Paul currently serves on National Dealer Advisory committees for Toyota, General Motors, Mercedes-Benz and Nissan. He is also past President and presently Director of the Nova Scotia Automobile Dealers Association as well as a past member of the board of the Canadian Automobile Dealers Association. In 2006, Paul was honoured with the first Ambassador Laureate Award from the Canadian Automobile Dealers Association for his extraordinary service to the industry and his community.

Paul also serves on boards for St. Francis Xavier University, Alderney Landing Cultural Centre and Junior Achievement. He is a past director of Nova Scotia Resources Limited and past Vice President of the Nova Scotia Heart & Stroke Foundation.

O'Regan's has been recognized on a national and provincial level with the following awards: Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies, Family Enterprise of the Year for Canada from the Canadian Association of Family Enterprise (2008), the Best Places to Work in Atlantic Canada (2007), Ethics Award from the Better Business Bureau (Maritimes) (2006), Entrepreneur of the Year Award (NS) (2005), Corporate Philanthropist of the Year (NS) (2004) and National Post Award for Business in the Arts (2000).
