Jody Clarke Pastoral Studies & Supervised Field Education Director Atlantic School of Theology
The Reverend Dr. Jody Clarke is an Anglican priest in the Diocese of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. He holds a Doctor of Ministry Degree from St. Stephen's College in Edmonton and a Master of Divinity Degree from Trinity College, University of Toronto.
Dr. Clarke's research has focused on bereavement, trauma and suffering. He is also interested in pushing the frontiers of the human condition, believing firmly in the resilience of the human soul.
Dr. Clarke is Associate Professor of Pastoral Theology and Director of Field Education at the Atlantic School of Theology. He is also a teaching supervisor in Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) and a specialist in Pastoral Counseling Education with the Canadian Association for Pastoral Practice and Education (CAPPE). He designed and supervised the first residency program in CPE, first within the Nova Scotia Hospital and now within Capital Health. He is currently helping to establish a new clinical pastoral program at the IWK Health Science Centre. Dr. Clarke directed the recent curriculum redesign project at AST, with an emphasis on dynamic learning. A fan of innovation and creativity, Dr. Clarke was directly involved with funding and developing the Best Practice Institute at AST. Dr. Clarke is Chair of the CAPPE Foundation and the Canadian representative to the Second International Conference on Spiritual Care to be held in Orlando, Florida in 2009.
