Heidi Weigand
Senior Consultant, Saint Mary's University Business Development Centre
Heidi is currently a senior consultant with the Saint Mary's University Business Development Centre helping to develop the strategic business capacities of Atlantic Canadian businesses and the First Nation Communities. Heidi has a 19 year track record of success with two "A list" international firms in Canada and the United States. During that time, she has held various positions in sales management, marketing, finance and business process re-engineering and has been certified as a Lean Six Sigma Black belt. More recently, Heidi was the marketing Division Co-Chair for the 2011 Halifax Canada Games which generated the largest economic impact in the games' history with over $130 million in economic activity in Nova Scotia; more than 1100 jobs; and $40 million in wages and salary.
Heidi has an MBA degree from Saint Mary's University and has a part-time faculty appointment within the Marketing and Management departments at Saint Mary's University teaching staffing & recruitment, employee training & development, sales management and introductory marketing. Heidi is also a full-time PhD Candidate with a main research interest in the usage of social media to improve performance management in sales organizations. Other research interests include coaching, leadership, goal setting and feedback and sport management.
