Ethics, Values and Business Success - Bill Black

Recent research has found that firms that orient their ethics and compliance management toward shared values and ethical aspirations are more successful.  Their employees exhibit more positive attitudes and behaviours and they show better bottom line results.

These results happen in organizations whose leaders consistently show that they care about ethics and shared values and consistently demonstrate their care through words and actions.

Bill Black, former CEO of Maritime Life is one business leader who practices such a positive and aspirational values oriented approach.  Under Bill’s leadership, Maritime Life had a strong commitment to both customers and employees.  The Company had a strong reputation for employee relations – appearing every year of Bill’s tenure among the leaders in the Report on Business list of top 50 employers in Canada.

Bill is widely recognized for his achievements and CCEPA is pleased to have him make a presentation to discuss his experience and share his insights into why a positive values orientation can make such a difference.
